Phosphor is an automation and web engineering company led by Nik Shuvalov. The work starts with the operating problem and keeps human ownership visible.

Nik Shuvalov

Nik leads Phosphor from the first workflow conversation through the shape of the system. The working relationship is direct: the person helping define the problem stays close to the interface, controls, and handoffs.

02Operating principles

Make the system understandable.

  1. Start with the real workflow.

Interfaces follow the event, handoffs, decisions, exceptions, and owners.

  2. Keep people in control.

Human review is explicit wherever context or judgement matters.

  3. Show the evidence.

Claims, records, and system states should be identifiable and checkable.

  4. Make the next action clear.

A person should know what happened, what is pending, and who owns it.

03Direct contact

Start with the part of the work that feels unclear.

You do not need to translate the problem into software requirements. Email Nik directly, or use the Control Room to organise the workflow first.
